Founded in 1924, Charles Department Store is a family owned and operated independent specialty store located in the heart of downtown Katonah Avenue. Current fourth generation owner Kelly Raneri continues the tradition of providing hand selected, high quality merchandise coupled with excellent personal service. With original tin ceilings and creaky wooden floors, Charles takes shoppers back to a time when retailers existed within a community and built their business one satisfied customer at a time.
Our housewares department features a wide variety of cookware, bakeware, small appliances, kitchen gadgets & tools, barware, textiles, table top and more. Some of our brands include Cuisinart, Emile Henry, Breville, Staub, Zwilling, USA Pan, Le Creuset, OXO, Lodge, Wusthof, Chemex and Bodum to name a few. We are also a proud dealer of the Big Green Egg ceramic smoker grill and we carry a full line of their accessories and charcoal.
You will also find a full service shoe department which outfits men and women with a stylish yet functional selection featuring Merrell, Dansko, Birkenstock, Brooks, Sorel, UGG, Naot, Sperry, Ecco, New Balance and more! We also offer a wide selection of socks by Smartwool, Wigwam and Thorlo.
Our clothing department offers a selection of men’s and women’s apparel, outerwear and accessories as well as luggage and blankets. From basics to one-of-a-kind pieces, our clothing department has it all – featuring Barbour, Pendleton, Filson, Patagonia, Vuori, Prana, True Grit/Dylan, Toad & Co, Z Supply, Royal Robbins, Echo Design, NYDJ and much more.
