The Katonah Chamber of Commerce and KVIS along with our 2019 sponsors TRD Designs and Stepping Stones are announcing the 2nd Annual Katonah in Bloomsummer-long contest.
Each month businesses will be eligible to win 1st or 2nd prize in the category theme for that month. Rather than just proclaiming “the best” each month, the judges will choose winners based on themes. We hope this will mix it up to enable the greatest number of businesses to participate and to have a chance to win.
Here is the Summer 2019 theme schedule:
MAY: Music and Arts
JUNE: Education and Community
JULY: History and Patriotism
AUGUST: Nature and Nurture
The judges will be representatives from Katonah community organizations that have something to do with the theme each month. For example, in May the theme is music/arts, so we will ask some folks from KMA and Caramoor to be the judges. Winners will be announced at a community event each month.
The idea is NOT to make businesses have to change their plantings every month to fit the theme. We want to encourage creativity and engage the community in fun and interesting ways. Ultimately, the contest aims to promote and recognize our fabulous Katonah businesses who make our town look so beautiful throughout the growing season.
ALL participating businesses will be thanked and promoted on KVIS and KCC social media all summer long, and we know the beauty they share will be appreciated by all who walk through Katonah.
The kick-off will be announced at KVIS Spring Clean-Up Day, Saturday May 4th. Those participating will receive the Official Participant Sign for their storefront. If your business would like to participate, please email us.
